Music Scores at SLPL

A guide to SLPL's large collection of music scores.

Searching the Catalog for Music Scores

To find music scores in our catalog, it is simplest to start with a basic search. Enter whatever you're looking for—an orchestral piece, a pop song, an instrument, or a certain musician or composer—into the search bar.

For even more control over your searches, try the two tips below.

Filter by Format

To narrow down your search results, you can filter by format. To do this, look under the "Formats" section (either on the left side of the page or under the "Filter Results" button, depending on the size of your screen). Under "Music & Sound," check the "Printed Music" box. From there, you can click "pin filters" to only search printed music.

Advanced Search

If you'd like to browse the Music Scores Collection, you'll need to use the Advanced Search page. Scroll down to "Collections" and select "Music Score." Click "Search." This will show every music score in the catalog, including every location at SLPL and St. Louis County Library.

From there, you can narrow results further using the filters, or sort the collection in different ways, including by "Date Acquired," which will show the scores recently added to the Library first.
