Microform at SLPL

The St. Louis Public Library is home to a variety of unique resources, including an expansive collection of materials on microform.

What is Microform?

Microform materials are scaled-down reproductions of documents. They are commonly available in two different formats: microfilm and microfiche. Microfilm is a reel of 16mm or 35mm film. Microfiche is a flat sheet of images. Below are examples of what microfilm and microfiche look like. At the bottom of the page is a clickable PDF listing to some of the Genealogy Resources on Microform Available at the St. Louis Public Library.
